Be Covered Oklahoma

Approximately 57 percent of Americans say they do not have enough information about the Affordable Care Act to understand how it affects them. That percentage rises to 67 percent among the uninsured, one of the key groups the law is intended to help.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) created the Be Covered campaign with the belief that it is important to prepare the more than 600,000 uninsured individuals in Oklahoma for the important changes occurring as a result of health care reform. Be Covered is an educational campaign that focuses on critical information and steps the uninsured need to know to gain access to individual health insurance.

The Be Covered campaign works with community partners to provide easy-to-understand information, in both English and Spanish, as well as practical tools and tips with the ultimate goal of engaging, educating and enrolling the uninsured.

For more than a year, BCBSOK has educated our communities and partnered with organizations to reach people where they live, work, learn, and worship. Be Covered presentations and booths have given us the opportunity to reach thousands of people, face-to-face, who are eager to learn more about the Affordable Care Act and other community resources available to them.

We look forward to continued partnerships with organizations that are as equally passionate about educating their constituents on how to gain access to health insurance.
