Volunteer of the Year
Our Volunteer of the Year award celebrates the volunteer efforts of our dedicated employees while giving coworkers the opportunity to nominate each other for deserving recognition.
Tiffany Howell was named the 2013 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) Volunteer of the Year. Tiffany volunteered more than 150 hours of her time working with more than a dozen community partners and organizations during 2013. She is a member of the Oklahoma City “Ready When the Time Comes” team that is activated during times of state crisis to assist the American Red Cross with disaster assessment, materials distribution and other projects.
Tiffany was also part of the BCBSOK team that helped build a KaBOOM! playground at the Northeast Regional Health and Wellness Campus at the Oklahoma City County Health Department. In addition to these projects, Tiffany has volunteered at the Regional Food Bank of Central Oklahoma, is an active volunteer with Citizens Caring for Children and she is engaged in the BCBSOK planning committee for the Oklahoma City Annual Caring Campaign, which benefits the United Way of Central Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Caring Foundation and the Blue Bear Employee Relief Fund℠. Tiffany was awarded $1,000 to donate to a nonprofit organization of her choice and she selected Citizens Caring for Children, which provides hope and creates healthy futures for Oklahoma’s children in foster care.
